Samakami (සාමකාමී), Sinhalese for “peaceful.” A word that soundly describes the feeling that comes with caring for, and being surrounded by, nature.
The Samakami Collection is the personal collection of flora curated by plant science major and rare plant enthusiast Kaveen Jayawardane. With the sole mission of championing plant-based education, outreach, and community, the collection consists of rare and unique specimens from around the world and is in a constant state of growth.
